PLDC 2011
Professional Lighting Design Convention
Hier geht`s zur offiziellen Website…

PLDC 2011 is still one year down the road, but for the lighting world it feels like tomorrow. From 19. to 22. October, 2011 an expected 1300 participants will be making their way to Madrid to enjoy this major further education event, discuss new lighting solutions, exchange information on research results, meet business contacts and learn more about cutting-edge technologies.

The Educational Events Division of VIA Publishing is proud to announce that they received more than 220 submissions for the 2011 convention (in 2009 it was around 170), of which nearly half were submitted for the Lighting Application Research track. The Paper Reviewing Committee has already begun to evaluate each paper. Taking into consideration that PLDC offers presentation slots for around 65 papers, only every third submission will be selected for the convention.

Next to invited partner PLDA (Professional Lighting Designers’ Association), the recently established Asociación Profesional de Diseñadores de Iluminación, APDI will partner the event and contribute towards local coordination on site.

“APDI´s main goal is to promote the lighting design profession within Spain and further develop ties within the industry. We understand this event will provide local awareness within the professional world, as well as in associations and governmental entities, and we will therefore support this magnificent event.” Maurici Ginés, President of APDI.

Further professional associations, as well as international universities with lighting design programmes are again invited to partner the event and to further expand the lighting design network! A prime goal is international exchange on all levels to support the further establishment of the profession.

Currently nine professional Partner Associations and nine Partner Universities have applied to support the convention.

The cornerstones for the establishment of the lighting design profession were laid with the first convention in London – “a milestone” – and the successive event in Berlin – “a step ahead”! Madrid will again document the existence of the lighting design profession and mark a further step in its establishment.

Be there – ¡ vamos !
